marriage intent?

Hi All,

Fiancée in Argentina, I am a British citizen.

We are progressing through the online application, for marriage and settlement (join partner or family)
The online form has no one of the questions that are contained within the printed vaf4a form!
Like sponsors (me) income and where do you intend to get married etc?

A few questions:
So do you fill out an offline application form as well (vaf4a)? (the online site says fill out and print online application)

On guidance it shows that you must show intention of marriage, I can't register at registry office until she has Visa and been here for 10 days, so can someone explain this?

Also last one!
If all is well and we marry, then as I understand it she can live here and work for 2 years then you must apply for ILR or similar.
But can she leave and return if she needs to visit family in Argentina anytime after marriage, and will this effect her status?

I'll leave someone else to reply to your question about the online/printed forms as I haven't seen them for some time.
Regarding your other queries;
After the wedding you will have to apply for the first extension of 2.5 years on form FLR(M). If you submit the application by post, the fee is currently £601. At the end of the initial 2.5 years your spouse will need to apply for a further 2.5 year extension, meeting all the original conditions, finance, evidence of susbsisting relationship etc. Paying the fee of £601 again (or the relevant fee at the time)
At the end of the 5 year probationary period your spouse will qualify for ILR (permanent residence). The postal fee is currently £1093 but may well rise before then.
They are free to travel outside of the UK during the 5 years, but this should be within reason. i.e not lengthy periods of absence without you.

Although you can't register for marriage before you are both in the UK, the Entry Clearance Officer will want to see evidence of a wedding being planned. i.e quotes for a venue and for printing wedding invitations etc. You may be able to get something in writing from the Registrar confirming that you have checked dates but are unable to register yet.

So leaving uk after marriage for her to visit Argentina for business, or family issues is ok but are there any time constraints ? Like max 60 days in a year or max 30 days at a time?

Does this also include holidays with me to say France?

No maximum time stipulated apart from not being absent for more than 90 days in the 12 months prior to applying for British Citizenship

its says that we HAVE to apply online, it says that once completed you should submit and print application, it doesn't say you have to print off and fill out VAF4A
so do we just print submit and print off online application?

This online application asks nothing of my wages (sponsors) or anything at all about how we are funding.

Once you're done - if it asks you to print the application you should.

Since you're applying for settlement - you also have to print and fill in appendix 2 - that's where it'll ask for your finances. You can't fill appendix 2 online.

I have searched online in these forums and read the guidance notes, however it mentions that a copy of my passport is needed.
It doesn't mention getting it attested just a copy of the bio pages. can anyone confirm its just the page with the photo, and if I need it attested?

Also can I copy it in colour?
