Tier 2-Partner-visa extension

Post by Scorpio76 » Tue Sep 30, 2014 9:38 pm

Dear All,
I really appreciate your advice in my case.

I hold tier2-partner visa since Oct, 2014 and it will expire in Nov, 2014.

I arrived London in November,2012 with my husband and stayed with him around 3 weeks and returned back to my country. I didn't know since then that it was written in my visa that I need to Police register. Accordingly, I didn't register till date. I have just discovered yesterday that this condition apply to me and I didn't comply unintentionally.

I have been back & forth from my country, Canada & UK until I decided to join my husband after he settled in July,2014.

Now, I am in UK and I need to extend my stay for 2 more years (like my husband), but after looking at the application, I found out that I have 2 issues:

1. My Police Registration Certificate. I went to my local police station but I was told that for a 1st time registration, I need to go to Borough Police Station. I am worried about the penalty & fine for not registering until now specially that I didn't know and no UK border officer told me about it. Also, I am worried if this May delay my visa extension.

2. In Oder to apply for my visa extension, I need to provide 2 docs with proof of address. I only have the NHS registration letter. I don't have a bank or credit card account. When I went to the bank, they wanted a utility bill with my name. Unfortunately, all the utility bills are in my husband's name. In order to exchange by Canadian Driving License, I have to be resident in UK at least 183 days. I don't know what I to do in this regards.

I need to apply before my visa expires in Nov, 2014.

I am in a dilemma and I don't know what to do...

I really appreciate your kind advice.

Kind Regards

In reference to my previous post, I have 2 updates:
1. I got my police registration certificate but the officer told me that my delay may lead to visa refusal. Is this true?
2. I got a utility bill with my husband & my name but most banks can't help me to open an account unless my visa is valid for 6 months at least.

Kindly advice.
