Financial Support (Retained the Right of Residence holder)

Post by dinushka » Tue Oct 14, 2014 10:59 am

Hi members,

I have RoR (Retained the Right of Residence) EEA2 resident card after divorce with EEA national. I'm working in supermarket chain, for last 4 years with 25+ hours per week. Now I'm feeling something wrong on my job place, that managers are trying to find some reason to terminate my job contract. So here I would like to know that if I lose my job, then can I get some financial support/benefit from UK Government for couple of months, until I get some new job? If yes, then for how many months, and how much for one month?

I'll be very thankful, if you people can give me some information.

You need to find a new job or register with the job centre for job seeker allowance
UK Student Visa : 04/2004 - 09/2009
EEA Residence Card : 07/2010 - 7/2015
EU Settled Status: Confirmed on 16th July 2019
Naturalisation : Confirmed on 02nd Oct 2020
Passport Approval : 21st Feb 2021

Will job seeker allowance effects (in negative way) my application for EEA4 (Permanent Residency). Because I will be not in Employed/Self-Employed/Self-sufficient for that period of time, when I will be having job-seeker allowance.

I'm going to apply for EEA4 (PR) in few weeks.

It may well do. You need to be economically self sufficient to apply for PR.
