Tier 2 General extension application query

Hi,

I have current leave to remain in UK until Feb 2015 under tier 2 general category. I have a valid COS for another 3 year issued by my current employer last week But I am not sure when should I start my application. Some say I can apply only 3 months before the date of expiry. Can someone help me understand when can I start my application please?

you can apply any time but not later than 3 months after the CoS assignment date.

Hi All.

I'm aware that in many places 'Manci' has mentioned that Tier 2 General Extension can be made anytime before the current leave to remain expires.

However I just want to clarify if the rule is still the same after the new immigration law that issued recently that includes NHS surcharge. Also it would like to know if there is any one who recently applied for early extension and has been successful.

Any help is much appreciated!
