ILR Impact for T2 General if I stay outside UK for 6 months

Hi,
I'm on T2 General since May 2014 (converted my T2 ICT to T2 General recently). Due to training program, I need to go to USA for 6 months on J1 visa. But I will be employed in UK office and continue to receive salary (and tax payments) in UK only. My pay slips will be generated to UK address only. I may be visiting UK once in 5-6 weeks too.

Is there any impact to get ILR (PR) if I stay to US for 6 months?

Also could you explain the rules for ILR process on T2 General candidates?

Hi Manci,
Thanks for the swift response. Based on my understanding by reading the given docs, it will impact to my ILR application irrespective of continuous 6 months stay or multiple short stays as long as I stay outside for 180 days in last 5 years. My outside stay will only be exempted if my company provide a letter with reason for stay outside. Getting salary in UK for those 180 days doesn't have much role to play.

Is my understanding correct?

Also will they count 180 days in last 5 years at one go? or is that fine to stay outside UK for 175 (<180) days in year 5, 170 (<180) days in year 4, 175 (<180) days in year 3, etc...

Honesty speaking the given document is not that easy to understand for people like me

your absences must not exceed 180 days in any one of the one year periods counted backwards from the day of the applications. If you have a longer single absence than 180 days, but not more than 1 year, you can break it up by the judicious timing of your application
