Tier 2 general questions

Post by bizit524 » Wed Oct 22, 2014 8:00 pm

So my boss wants to keep me. He doesn't have a tier 2 sponsorship license. He is applying for one right now. What is the general turn around time for this?
When he does receive it how long does it take to generate a Cos? and its 184£ correct?

I have started filling out the paperwork on my end, obviously I can't submit it till he gets his back to generate a Cos. However I want to get all the paperwork together besides the CoS what other papers do I need/should I get. There is a section of required documents on the site but I can't see them till I fill in his information (which he doesn't have)

I am a tier 4 masters student
I have heard that I need a transcript and something else from my masters degree, is that true? what else do I need. Thanks :)

Also one other question. If my tier 4 visa ends but I submitted the paperwork for my tier 2 visa am I still allowed to work and stay, while a decision is being made?

Hi Experts,
Could you please clarify if TIER2 General visa is eligible for extension which is due in Sep 2016.

Here are my visa details for leave to remain

->First entered in UK as TIER2 ICT Established Staff on 12-OCT-2010.(3 years stay in UK as TIER2 ICT)
->Switched to TIER2 GENERAL on 01-OCT 2013,got 3 years visa valid until 29-SEP-2016.

As my stay with current visa till SEP-2016,completes my total stay in UK 6 years.

Please clarify,the rule changes done on April 2014 will apply to me and restricts me to extend my visa in SEP 2016 OR will i be able to extend my visa in SEP 2016 as i got my TIER2 GENERAL visa before the rules change in April 2014.

Thanks in Advance.

depending on UKVI workload it can be a couple of months assuming the correct documentation was submitted. Make sure that with the licence application your boss also requests at least 1 unrestricted CoS

When he does receive it how long does it take to generate a Cos?
20 minutes
and its 184£ correct?
£536 for the licence if it is a small company plus £148 for one CoS

I have started filling out the paperwork on my end, obviously I can't submit it till he gets his back to generate a Cos. see para 16-17 of the policy guidance:

if you submit the T2G application while your T4 leave is still valid (or within 28 days afterwards) your T4 leave continues until a decision is made on your application

Thanks :)

Thank you for the answers. Just to be clear about my last question.
Honestly i am very worried about sponsorship license because he is going to submit it today - tomorrow. you said a couple of months. Honestly I dont have a couple of months. I have till December 20th. I have been hounding him trying to get him to get it done much earlier like 2 months ago he just hasn't.

So lets say he doesn't hear back from them till after December 20th do I still have to leave the UK? because i don't want to get band from the UK or my chances hurt. of being employed by him. I really enjoy the job and what i do.....
for the 28 days you're talking about am i still allowed to live here?
and is there a cool down period? if I have to leave?
I know there is a "premium" option for tier 2 visas, is there a premium option for his part of it? (to be processed faster) if so how much?

Sorry for all the questions

@bizit524

If your leave expires on 20 Dec and the sponsor licence hasn't been granted by then you are allowed to stay in the UK for 28 days beyond this date without any adverse consequences but you will not be allowed to work, and you employer is not allowed to let you, after 20 Dec.

Ask your employer to request urgent treatment of the licence application on the basis of your situation.
