Query on Tier 2 Dependent Visa

Hi All,

Iam on a tier 2 general visa in the UK and now applying for my wife's dependent visa. At the start of the application process, there is an option to choose the following:

reason for visit
visa type
visa sub type

Can anyone help me out with what I should be choosing here? It the reason for visit 'settlement' and type 'wife' or is it something else?

Will she be applying from outside UK? Are you filling the online form? Not sure if the online form asks for the reason of visit. For her, visa type should be Tier 2 General and sub type should be General Partner.

Yes she is applying from outside the UK and filling the online form. these options do come when filling the form. actually the latter part of the form is based on what option you go on to choose.

there is no option such as tier 2 general as its quite generic. Options are visit, settlement etc. if i choose settlement then one of the sub type is 'wife'. Just want to make sure Iam choosing the right option. Any assistance would be highly appreciated.

You need to select: Work --> Tier 2 General --> Tier 2 General Partner. Play around with the options, you'll get it.
