Set-F appeal approved - time frame for receiving visa

Post by eledhwen35 » Sun Dec 14, 2014 5:20 pm

Hi there, I am trying to get some help as UKVI are not very forthcoming. My daughter (16) applied for ILE from the US based on my settlement visa (ILR). Her application was denied in June 2013, the appeal hearing in July 2014 ruled in our favour. The Home Office applied for permission to appeal to the Upper Tribunal and were denied on 23 Sept 2014. We have received no communication regarding my daughter's visa aside from an email from our solicitor for the appeal, who indicated that we should wait 2 months and if no communication from UKVI then we should chase it up. I would have to rehire the solicitor and am loathe to do so unless I have no choice.

I have tried communicating with UKVI several times on the UKVI email form, which just gives us back an answer of "contact appeals". The decision should have been with the ECO for weeks now, it has been 12 weeks since the final decision. I have found the email address for the Sheffield Visa section and sent them an email to chase it up. Is there any indication of how long it should take to get her visa? I am afraid of my daughter's application being put at the bottom of the pile; I know it is going to take a while but I would feel so much better if I knew someone at least had her forms and was going to do something about it.

Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!
