Step By Step process for Spouse Visa from india

Hi

Can someone please give me a step by step guide in how to apply for a spouse visa for my wife to be. she lives in india and our plans are to apply 2 days after our marriage. i will gather all relevant paperwork that i will need from the uk and will start the application on-line before i leave for india

i am a little confused on how the biometrics work. do you do them on the day you submit your application at VFS global centre in new delhi

also if you have done the procees from delhi can you please tell me how quick you got an answer as i want to pre book honeymoon from flying london to maldives but i need to leave plenty of time to get decision and then fly home

also any other suggestions and tips will be appreciated
