couple of months? lol Darr81.. my heart goes for you!!Darr81 wrote:Rang the department this morning , am told the file is definitely with the minister after i asked her the same question twice and she made sure if i have the same address.
she said it might take couple of months to hear back from the minister but then i guess this may be based on her assumption as she wasnt sure at the end.
How did u find out? Did u ring them or they contacted you?mumairsharif wrote:for those who are waiting for 6 months or more, I suggest to contact the department. I've done that recently & found out the my application was approved a month ago & letter was lost in post.

This is what I was saying before that it is a possibility that the approval letters might get lost in the post. The problem is that the person sitting to answer your calls doesn`t know much about the application until it is updated in the system (if they have a computerized system showing the exact and up to date application status). Otherwise what if application was approved and the system shows "in advance stage with the minister" but the person responsible for updating the system wasn`t able to update the application status because of leave...
@mumairsharif
First of all congratulations on getting the news about approval. My question to you would be did you call in between to the inis department in Dec and got a reply "with the minister" in December? Also could you please share your time line with us.. it will surely help. Since I applied in end of July and got my first ack letter in early week of August.
I presume its been almost a year for your application (april 2014?) .. the word advanced can mean manything, such as waiting for reports, dropped to minister, some issue with your application (law or money), returned from minister... lots of thingsbluemoon2 wrote:GUYS , i rang to citizenship today and was told my application is at advance stage , what does it mean in plain english ?
Yes Banana , its amlost 1 year as i applied in April 2014 , you have very good memory , i never ever commit a crime in state including trafic crime , never been illegal even a single day , worked last 8 years , only took few months partial job seeker allowance as my working hours were redused , and following is the reply i got from tem ,banana07 wrote:I presume its been almost a year for your application (april 2014?) .. the word advanced can mean manything, such as waiting for reports, dropped to minister, some issue with your application (law or money), returned from minister... lots of thingsbluemoon2 wrote:GUYS , i rang to citizenship today and was told my application is at advance stage , what does it mean in plain english ?
unless you moan to them that your application took more than 6 months, its highly unlikely to get an answer soon... have you and offenses? no.. have you accessed social welfare? if so, then maybe they delay it to make sure you are back to work and paying them back!
