Supporting Documents for VAF4A

Post by southerndb » Thu Jan 15, 2015 10:12 am

Hi all,

My fiance and I are currently in the process of completing the VAF4A, and preparing the supporting documentation ready for when she submits when she returns to Kazakhstan at the end of the month (her student visa runs out at this point).

Does the following list of documents look correct? (Apologies for the long post!)

Her

VAF4A application.
VAF4A - Appendix 2.

Current passport.

Passport photograph.

Evidence of english requirement - Letter from UK university with confirmation that Masters degree completed.

Me

Income:

1. Letter from employer confirming length of service plus current salary (above the £18,600 needed).
2. Copies of payslips for the last six months.
3. P60 for 2013/2014.
4. Copy of tax return for 2013/2014, which shows self-employment (albeit I only earned a tiny amount, and made a small loss).

Finances:

1. Letter from bank stating current balance and when account was opened.
2. Print outs of statements for the last six months.

Proof of citizenship:

1. Copy of passport.
2. Copy of birth certificate.

Accomodation:

1. Copy of mortgage statements.
2. Copy of purchase details for property.
3. Copy of utility bills.

Us

Evidence of relationship:

1. Timeline of relationship.
2. Copy of photos of time together (holidays, family gatherings etc.).
3. Copy of council tax bill, for when she moved in with me.
4. Cards received.
5. Facebook conversations.

Does this look like we've covered everything?

With regards to things like my passport and birth certificate, does this need to be signed by a solicitor to prove that it's genuine (I'm happy to send originals back with her, as I won't need them for a few months)?

Do I also need to provide details of all bank accounts, beyond the current account that my salary goes into? (I have a couple of savings accounts with a little bit of money in them, some are just empty).

My fiance only has her current passport, her old one was retained by the ministry (which is normal for Kazakhstan apparently) when she applied for her new one, so we don't have details of when she was traveled to the UK a few years ago to study. Will this cause any problems?

She also has a potential job offer for when we eventually get a marriage visa. Should we include this in the application?

And finally, I noted in the application form that it asks when we'll be getting married. We're looking at venues at the moment, but haven't confirmed a date. Can we say this, or does it need to be confirmed? It would be in September most likely, well within the six months that we have to get married.

Again, apologies for the long post, but i want to make sure we get this right!

Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give!

Cheers,

Scott
