Dear All,
I am a new member on this board but have closely followed some discussions before joining.
I understand from my observation of various forums that on 6th April 2014 new Code of Practice was introduced. My query pertains to the new salary related rules. I am setting my situation below and seek your advise.
1. I switched to tier 2 general in January-February 2014 from Post Study Work tier 1.
2. I am under the "legal professionals not elsewhere classified" 2419- category. As you may know Post June 2012 T2G application needs to be under NQF Level 6 categories.
2. My tier 2 permit expires in January 2016.
3. My current salary is 24k per year. This was above the new entrant appropriate salary under legal professionals category under old rules.
4. Now to extend-
A. Do I need to be under same category? level and nature of my job are not likely to change any sooner.
B. What Salary requirement do I need to comply with to be eligible for extension? DO I need increased salary?
C. Do I need to comply with the new- post April 2014 code of practice? under these the experienced worker in my category should get 41k per year- this is unlikely to happen as I am with a rather small company.
D. As i understand, I am no longer a new entrant (above 26 and graduated in 2012) and hence the questions above assume my status as an experienced worker.
Any advise is greatly appreciated and I request you all to leave links to any site/document that you are referring to. This will help me keep my questions to minimum as i greatly value your time and advise.
