extending tier 2 for less than 1 year.

I am currently work under tier 2 general and thinking of extending my visa for my new contract.
However the new contract i was offered is only a 9 months contract.
If calculated annully, my wage is over 20500.
However as it is only a 9 month contracts, it is less than 20500.
Am i be able to extend my tier 2 visa??
