Hi,
I'm currently in the UK under Tier 2 (General) dependant visa. I've been working for my current employer for the past 6 months and they are ready to sponsor me so that I can switch to Tier 2 General visa.
I believe I'll have to apply from my home country for this. Could someone please advice me if a Resident Labour Market Test would be required in my case as I'm already working for my employer . Any help is much appreciated.
Many thanks !!!

yes, RLMT will be required unless an exemption applies (shortage occupation, high earner). Also, your sponsor will have to obtain a restricted CoS for you (monthly cycle)

Thank you so much Manci for the quick reply.
I have have got one more query regarding ILR !!!!
I have been currently living in the UK for the past two years under the Tier 2 Dependant Visa and my Husband under the Tier 2 General Visa. Now I am planning to switch to my visa to Tier 2 General so that my husband can become my Dependant. I was wondering whether my husband’s past years(Tier 2 General) be counted for ILR or it will it start once again when he switch to Tier 2 dependant. Any help will be much appreciated.
Many Thanks !!!!!

when your husband switches to being your dependant he will be eligible for ILR after 5 years from the date of switching.
Many Thanks !!!!!

Hi Manci,
Thank you again for the quick reply. It is very much appreciated. If my Husband's years count from the date of switching i believe it will be the same for me as well. Am I right ?!

for you it will be 5 years from the time you arrive in the UK on your T2G visa provided you meet the requirements, e.g. salary
