New Form AN (March 2015)

Post by IQ28 » Thu Mar 26, 2015 2:29 pm

I have an appointment with NCS 9am tomorrow morning and have obviously completed the form (June 2014 version) with all the referee's signatures etc.

However, just noticed that there is a new AN Form published today and I am just wondering whether I'm still ok to go ahead with my application using an old form. I haven't got time to get new form completed and obtain referee's signatures on it now. I have a feeling that I should be ok to go ahead with the old form (June 2014 version) but can someone please confirm my understanding is correct?

Many thanks

You should be fine, as the Home office should receive your application before April 6th when the new fee, and Biometric requirements come into effect.

Many thanks for confirming my understanding is correct. Much appreciated.
I just didn't find the specific date from which new form should be completed and therefore posted a query.

Contrary to my understanding, you may want to contact the NCS as it appears that the new form may actually be required, based on the topic below.

I had an appointment at 9.20 and they took old application form. They didn't even mention of new forms.

Could anyone post a link to an old form (June 2014)? I'm applying on 2 April but found a typo in the old form so I need a copy! Thanks!

Hi please I need an advice with regards to my application for British citizenship, I sent my AN form on 4th of June 2015 using the March 2015 version of the form, I didn't realise that the form has been updated and changed on May 2015, I am really worried now If what will happen to my application, if I will get rejected for using the old form, does anyone of you done this? And have u been rejected or successful on your British citizenship application despite using the old form, please help... I really need your advice, thanks

I almost did this a few years ago but realised at last minute & retrieved the package from the post office before it was sent on.

Anyway, there is usually a 'grace period' when these forms change.
And there is no statutory requirement to use a specific form so even if the grace period has expired it should not result in an instant rejection.

HO would write to you to ask for any missing information, depending on the differences between the forms; (for example, employment history).

I assume you tracked your application and know by now that HO have received it (?)
- have they acknowledged receipt yet, or taken your fees ? (which would help indicate its 'in the system').

I haven't receive any confirmation or acknowledgement from the HO yet, but I checked my bank account and found out that they already deducted the amount on the 13th of June 2015 but until now I haven't receive any email from them regarding my application. What happen to your application? If you have used and sent the old form as well? Did it affect your citizenship application?

In the end I managed to retrieve the 'old' form from the post office and replace it with the correct form.

HO is quite inconsistent with their communications, especially for routine acknowledgements etc, so don't worry if they don't acknowledge the application.
With payment collected at least you know your application must be in the system.

In your case I think HO will simply write to you if they require more information.
