General Visitor Visa UK

Hi Guys,

General Vistor Visa UK GOV site says:

You can apply for a General Visitor visa if:
you’re visiting friends or family who aren’t permanent residents in the UK

I want to come on Tourist Visa to UK for 4 months but I am planning to stay with a friend who is settled in UK and is British Citizen now. Can that person provide me accommodation letter? Will this be a issue in getting general visitor visa?
