Tier 2 General - entry clearance from home country- cost

Post by geetaghanti0123 » Mon Apr 27, 2015 11:30 am

Hello Experts,

I am currently under TIER 2 ICT long term staff dependent visa and I am working. My new employer has agreed to sponsor my visa and issue me Tier 2 General visa.

I was thinking that , when they are sponsoring means they will bear the complete cost of the application and my travel cost to India. But they have come back saying they will reimburse the application fees once I join them, and I need to take care of ‘immigration health surcharge’ and my travel cost. is this right? is this how all the sponsorship work?

Now with the current rules in place, after I switch to Tier 2 General and stay in UK for 5 years, will I be allowed to get ILR?

Please help.

Yes.

I need to take care of ‘immigration health surcharge’ and my travel cost.
Yes usually we a have to bear the cost. But you can still negotiate with your sponsor.

Cheers
