Work Permit from 2 companies

Post by deepak_c23 » Tue Sep 04, 2007 11:23 am

Hello guys,
this is my first post.
I am working for IT company. I am changing my employer in UK.
my new employer has applied for a work permit.
I would like to know
1. if i can hold two work permits from 2 different companies.
2. once i have work permit from the new employer, my old work permit is still valid or not in case i face problems leaving my current employer.
3. Can i disregard my new work permit and still work in UK with work permit from my old employer

Thanks in advance for the reply.

Regards

You must have only one work permit at any given time...you must choose between the 2 companies....you choice mate.

1) No you can't, the issue of any work permit invalidates that previous one. Therefore it is not possible to simultaneously hold two valid work permits.

2) See above

3) See above
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

This is not true. The old permit is only invalidated once the FLR has been obtained on the new one, when the old one is returned, or when the applicant begins working for the new company.
