Germany Family Reunion Visa Application Form

Post by Worrie » Mon May 18, 2015 11:45 am

Hello,

I would be obliged if somebody could provide some insight on the below questions as in the form. I am going to join my spouse in germany from UK.

1) What are your means of subsistence? I am confused on this question as I will be working there with my company or may change to another company. What shall I put in here?

2) Do you have health insurance that covers Germany? I am not sure if I should take the insurance for this because as I understand when I move to germany, the employer will play for the insurance from my salary? So i will have the hhealth insurance but I do not have it when I am applying for this visa,

3) Intended duration of stay in Germany? It asks for From and To date? I am not sure what to enter the dates here? Do I need to put the date from when I intend to stay in Germany? The To date I cannot answer.

1) Income from employment (can be yours, hers, both)

2) If you stay with your UK employer, they are not obliged to pick up the tab. As far as I know, they would pay your gross salary into your German account and you would have to inform your local Finanzamt (tax office) and German health insurance about that and would have to pay all of the social security contributions and health insurance from your gross income - a German employer would pay 50% of those contributions/health insurance. I used to live in Germany working for an employer not based outside and that's how it worked. The tax office had a direct debit for the tax, as had the health insurance. My health insurance also dealt with getting unemployment insurance, etc. paid to the right place.

3) Is this online or per hand? The German Embassies usually have a guidance for each form, did you receive that?

First of all, many thanks for answering.

1) I thought so as well. Employment.

2) There are actually 2 scenarios . a) I stay with my uk based employer but they will provide me with germany contracts and other forms and they also say that germany the employer costs are higher. So, I assume that they will pay for the insurance and other contributions. b) I change job and join a germany based company. I think they should provide the contributions and other things. What shall I answer to question? or just leave it blank?

3) Well this the form downloaded from the german embassy. I tried to find faq or instructions for the form but unfortunately, could not find one.
