HELP! EEA Registration Certificate and EEA Family Permit

Hi all,

I have an issue and can't find help anywhere... I recently married my wife who is a US citizen and I am a UK national. She is applying for an EEA family visa as my spouse so she can come here in the summer for 4 months (I understand the maximum is 6 months)

I have 2 questions:

1)what happens at the end of the 4 months if she wants to stay? is there a process so that you can extend the visa or do you have to apply for a different visa and what is the most cost effective way of doing this for example she wanted to stay for a year in total (6 months after the visa runs out)

2) I currently do not have an EEA Registration certificate but I am employed full time and have evidence of this. Do I need a certificate number as it is a mandatory field on the online form (ie it is asking for my number) my wife is filling out or will her application be fine without this?
