Immigration from EU to UK with wife and son questions

Hi.

I'm planning on moving from an EU country to UK in near future, but would like to know if there are important considerations when moving with a wife and a son. He's 9 months old.

1. Would I have to register him anywhere?
2. How does healthcare registration work?
3. What do I have to do concerning preschool and other institutions?
4. Wife stays at home, so most of the time he'd be spending time with her, but what if we wanted to go out for a few hours? What kind of laws govern leaving your child in someone elses care?
5. Schooling - is it mandatory? From what age?
6. Medical - Any special vaccines are needed? Any exams that any of us would have to undergo?

And any other thing I'd need (ou should) do.
