I have been contacted by a young man (25) whose student visa obtained in 2011 expired last September. He tells me he needs to live his life as a gay man but cannot do this in Pakistan for fear or persecution and potential forced marriage.
Am trying to encourage him to come clean and do the right thing but could do with some advice re his prospects of being allowed to stay on the basis of his sexuality.
I can verify his true sexuality is homosexual. He says it would just be totally unacceptable and unsafe for him to return now he is known there is gay.
I suspect he should have sorted all this when he first entered the country but too late for that now. He says he hasn't gone the official route for the risk of being put on the next plane back.
What should I advise him?
