Tier 2- Doctor changing NHS employer

Post by doc15 » Sat Jun 13, 2015 4:26 pm

Hello

I am a doctor currently working in Scotkand. My current tier 2 had CoS from a Scotland health trust and expires in September 2015.

I will be starting my new job in August with another NHS trust in England. I am confused about how to proceed with the visa process now:

1) Will I need to apply as a fresh tier 2 with a new CoS from the new employer? Also, can I make that application while working in the UK?

2) Will I need to show bank maintainance and English test scores? I read somewhere that you don't need both if you are already on a tier 2.

3) what is the processing time roughly now if you apply with in the UK?

Any help would greatly appreciated

1. Yes; Yes.
2. Not required as long as you apply before your current leave expires.
3. Depends on how do you apply. You can check the general timelines here: https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/switch-to-this-visa
