Not sure if this has been discussed yet, but I just received this from MAC a couple of days ago. A 2-step consultation, first stage to raise salary levels urgently, and the second step -- full review of Tier 2 by end of year -- I think this can mean bye-bye Tier 2 in April 2016 folks.
Make what you will of it, but it certainly looks like the govt is moving in for the kill on the final PBS category that still sort-of-survived until now.
Especially surprised since during the recent t1E call for evidence I have worked together with MAC a bit, and know that they have something like a dozen people working there, and their review of T1E is well underway. How -- and with what level of attention to detail or sincerety -- can they also handle all this at the same time?!

Dear Sir / Madam
The Government commissioned the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) on 10 June 2015 to conduct a review of the Tier 2 route. This commission is split into two parts:
i. early advice on Tier 2 salary thresholds by 21 July 2015;
ii. a wider review of the Tier 2 routes by mid-December 2015.
The first call for evidence document on salary thresholds is available on the MAC website at:
https://www.gov.uk/government/organisat ... -committee
Partners have until Friday 3 July 2015 to voice their opinions. A second call for evidence, relating to the wider review of Tier 2, will then be published around late June/early July 2015. This call will run until September 2015. In order to allow partners additional time to prepare, a summary description of the Tier 2 commission is included in the salary thresholds call for evidence.
