Tier 4 ( PHD )

Post by amaj » Wed Jul 29, 2015 4:46 pm

Hello All,

I am in a very difficult and tricky situation. After speaking to many lawyers I have not found out any answers to my question.

Basically I am a International student and i have lived in UK for almost 9.5 years. I have been on tier 4 visa for 7 years and PSW 2 years, never been rejected visa. i did my Certificate Course, Dilpoma, Bachelors, Masters and CFA. Now my leave to remain expires in October 2015. As i have been most of time in UK on Tier 4 i have completely exhausted my 3 year and 5 year cap.

My question is can i still apply for PHD programme?

As i am close to my ILR next year, I would need to extend my visa for atleast another six months. Is there any recommended way to get extension for atleast another six months apart from tier 4.

I will truly appreciate any help in this regards.

u can go for PhD if u manage to get a CAS.......other option wuld be to apply for FLR (FP) n den delay the biometrics which could buy u 2 - 4 months.

Search the forum for more info.

Yes. PhD studies are not included in any cap -- unless you already have a PhD in which case it would be 8 years.

I don't understand why your "many lawyers" could not answer that simple question!
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
