Tier 2 urgent query

Hi All,

I came in UK in Sep 2011 in tier 2 ICT long term transfer VISA.
I am getting this extended every year until now. Recently got renewed until Sep 2016. Is there any possibility to switch to another VISA type and extend it further?? I think I am not eligible for ILR but any suggestions are most welcomed.

There are other visa types, but it depends on your situation. Do you want to study? Are you married to a Brit or EU citizen? You're right in that your Tier 2 ICT will not lead to ILR.

Or are you interested in Tier 2 General work visa? In which case, you would have to serve a 12 month cooling off period outside the UK as you did not apply for your Tier 2 before 6 April, 2011, I presume??

Have a look at the .gov website on visas and come back with more questions. This one is a bit broad....

At present, it is a 5 year route to ILR, although the rules are constantly changing and the UK is trying to reduce net migration.
