Do I need Travel and Medical Insurance For Schengen Visa !!!

Hi Every one.


I am non EEA National spouse of an EU/EEA national. I am applying for Schengen Visa. I am traveling with my EU/EEA national wife. I just want to know do I still need a Travel and Medical insurance for applying schengen visa.

please guide me with your experience and information.

No you don't have to have medical insurance if you are a family member of an Eu national applying for a Schengen visa, All you need is your passport a photocopy of your spouse's passport and proof that you are a family member of an Eu national

but the situation is that I applied through Italy and my wife is bassically italian national. according to the 2004/38/EC Directives if you travel to the EEA citizens home country. Then 2004/38/EC does not apply. so in that case do I need to have Medical and Travel insurance.

keeping it on the safe side you can buy a cheap travel insurance and send it along with your application
there is no harm in that..

I need to tell you that I got the schengen visa. and it was free of cost as I am family member of EU/EEA Italian National. now is that still I need to buy insurance?

sorry i didnt know that congratulations on getting visa.well i dont know about italy and there health
services you must consult with somebody who lived there and have some experience..
