Hi there,
I hope somebody will be able to help me with this:
I have been on a student visa for a long time and qualify for the IGS based on my recent studies.
However, I have recently been approved a 3-year work permit and granted leave to remain in accordance. I have been on a work permit for only one month.
The problem is that my situation has now changed suddenly, and my employment is due to terminate prematurely and very shortly.
I was told I cannot switch to IGS from work permit holder category. However, because my initial student visa has not expired yet, I was hoping I could try to switch to IGS.
Can anyone advise on this? should I try with IGS anyway on the basis of old non-expired student visa?
Or does the new work permit visa cancel the previous student visa and therefore my IGS application will be refused?
I don't have much time to sort myself out, any advice would be very much appreciated....
Thank you
