Schengen visa and biometrics

Post by a.s.b.o » Wed Sep 30, 2015 5:49 pm

A very short question:

1. Do family members of an EEA national exercising treaty rights in UK require to submit biometrics (if travelling without the EEA national)?

Can you please direct me? Many thanks

Ok, I receives the response from the Finnish embassy, which, given Finland's rather decent adherence to EEA legislation, can approximate a gold standard.

Yes, Family members of EEA citizen will need to attend biometrics.

This causes a lot of difficulty to families living in remote places, or remote provinces of countries (as Northern Ireland in our case) as the application will now need to be made in person. The good thing is that enrolment is valid for 59 months, so need to repeat this for close to 5 years.

Cheers
