Hi I'm ripping my hair out trying to get advice on what to do
My Turkish husband has a 33 month entry clearance visa granted in June 2015 and we entered the UK in June.we returned to Turkey for a holiday and the page containing the visa has been torn out of his passport we do not know how or when during our stay
He still has the passport and the visa which is complete and un damaged so we do not come under lost or stolen and the gov UK advice is about those circumstances but seems to be to transfer/replace visa to a new passport and as it has been activated on UK entry does not require a new full application-ecb guidance
I have e mailed and phoned the ukvi and received:
1)get the visa transferred to a new passport
2)reapply for a new visa which costs nearly £2000 and is impossible as all documents are in UK and language cert is now not on valid list
I then phoned their very costly phone line to be told effectively they didn't have a clue and to send details and they would forward them to an entry clearance officer
I have also phoned the consulate in Istanbul who told me they don't deal with this despite the visa being granted by them!!!!
And tried an immigration lawyer who advised contacting ukvi again or risking travel to UK and proving visa validity at the UK border----
Anyone have something similar happen or knows what to do????help!!!!
