EU Fam Status Revoke

Post by Maya0707 » Wed Nov 04, 2015 3:33 pm

Hello everyone :)

I'm originally from Russian and I was on a student visa for 2.5 years till I got married to a Polish man in July 2010!!

I received my GNIB stamp 4 EU Fam till 9th June 2014 (though I got my status for 5 years anyway) as my passport had an expiration date 9th June 2014...I received my new passport and my new GNIB only on 30th October 2014 (due to long wait for my passport because of Russian embassy), that means I have a 4 months break in my GNIB cards, not in my status....(that's not the most important piece of information)

The main thing:
Me and my husband got separated (he moved back to Poland) and I forgot to inform the immigration center..
A few months ago I received a letter from them saying that they know that my husband is no longer practicing EU rights and they want to revoke my permission to stay, but they are giving me a chance if I provide the reasons why they should let me to stay.

I replayed back explaining what I have achieved and how my life is fully settled in this country. It's been two month already and I haven't heard anything back from them...

I have two questions:
1. Should I contact them again and ask what they have decided?
2. My GNIB will expire in June 2016...What could I do in order to either apply for naturalization or for any other option to stay in Ireland in this case?

I'd be so much thankful if there is someone you could give an advise with this situation.

When did you separate? When did he return to Poland?
I am not, and cannot, offer legal advice to particular people. I can only discuss general areas of immigration law.

People should always consider obtaining professional advice about their own particular circumstances.
