If you want to be a student full-time, you need to get a student visa. No point being on HSMP and studying full-time, I'm sure there's something wrong with that. You certainly won't be able to get your HSMP extended if you don't meet the 75 points again, so do be careful.
As for student loans...I only know of those given to people with ILR/PR or other permanent status (or those non-EEA on family permits here for 3 or more years). I doubt a bank would give you a student loan...99% of the time international students pay their own way, or get a scholarship.
