UK Visa for new born - Status Enquiry

Hello,

I am currently working in T2 ICT Long Term Staff visa in UK. Recently I have applied visa for my newborn son within UK. Already on 12th Oct he has completed his biometric but after that no communication from UKBA.
Still waiting for documents and BRP card. Not sure how much time it will take.

I have a plan to visit India on 15th Nov. So is there any way to enquire the status of the visa?

I was checking the below link. If I apply to retun my documents through the link, does it mean that my application will be withdrawn?
