Change of Title after Promotion

Post by Shaky » Wed Nov 25, 2015 1:11 pm

Hello Experts,

I am currently on Tier2 General visa, my job type is: “2136 Programmers and software development professionals” and title "Senior Developer".

I promoted recently and my new job title is "Architect" - Can I accept the promotion or do I need to reapply for the job and pass the RLMT. I checked that it's different job type for architect “2135 IT business analysts, architects and systems designers”

Thanks,

Your company should decide if the change in responsibilities warrant a SOC code change, it will be new vs. old to what was assigned to you.
If SOC code changes you need to get an RLMT done and apply for a new Visa.

Thanks FaeLLe,

My day to day job didn't changed much, I am still involved in software development - so, not sure change of title invalidate my current SOC or not.

Be very careful when making statements like that to Home Office, it could be concieved as deception.

The point they will be thinking about is why did they change his title / designation if he is doing nothing different? Things like new designation are visible in payslips and possible Income Tax returns.
