Germany visa from UK or need to go mother country?

Dear All,

I am an Indian citizen. I am right now deputed to a UK client from my Indian company. Right now I am in UK. I got a job in Germany. My current visa is Intracompany transfer visa for short term (1 year). My German employer will give the sponsorship and all the required details. But I think, I need to apply for visa. My questions are

a) Can I apply German visa from UK?
b) If a) is not possible, Can I send my passport to India and apply? Or do I need to go India?
c) If I go India, can I return immediately after the visa application day? Or do I need to stay long? Because, I have to return and resume work in UK.

a) Yes, as you have a valid UK residence permit (would not work when on visitor visa)

b) No, you would need to go to India in person, if you would prefer to apply from there.

c) No, the Embassy will hold onto your passport while your application is processed, so you wouldn't be able to travel. You'd also have to be available for personal interviews at the Embassy, etc.

You have leave to remain for more than 6 months = you are not a visitor, you are a resident, albeit not a permanent one.
