Asylum enquiry. Got pregnant through rape

A friend of mine claimed asylum 2 years ago. She's a single mother of a 5 year old girl. The girl was a result of of a rape that happens in early 2010. She didn't disclose this when she apply for asylum 2 years ago because she was so ashame of it. Now she's ready to reveal this fact in her resubmission for asylum. Will this help her case? Thanks
