waiting time for british citizen registration of minors

i submitted my son's registration application through NCS last week. my son is 14 months old and was born in the UK. both my wife and i now have the ILR.

i checked some previous threads and found it took at least 2-3 months for a naturalisation case. because we're planning some trips towards the end of the year or at the beginning of next year. i'm eagerly wondering normally how long the HO can make a decision on this kind of very straight forward case? and once he's been granted the citizenship, how long can we get the passport?

Between 1-2 months normally, based on anecdotal evidence.

To get a first child passport, allow 2 weeks.

Has your child not got ILR stamped in his foreign passport? What nationality is he?

we didn't get him a passport, therefore no ILR for him. we thought it could save us a little hassle and money. but now it has brought us a little annoyance instead. his literally official nationality now is chinese.
