Tier 2 dependent issued with wrong expiry date

Post by MrIncredible » Mon Dec 21, 2015 5:49 pm

Hi all

Can someone please advise. Would really appreciate suggestions.

I applied for a Tier 2 General - Partner (upto 3 years) visa and received my passport with a vignette with incorrect expiry date.

I applied as a dependent of my Husband on tier 2 general visa and as per the documents I submitted, I should have received a 30 day vignette and later a BRP when I reach the United Kingdom with a date same as my husband’s visa expiry date.

My husband (Main Applicant’s) visa expiry date is in April 2018. As a proof I also submitted an attested copy of my husband’s Biometric Residence Permit with my application with an expiry date of April 2018

However, I have been issued with a vignette with an expiry date of 05-2016. This was in fact a date on my husband’s previous work visa. But he changed his employer on 20 April 2015 and he was issued with a new Biometric Residence Permit with an expiry date of April 2018.

I wrote to ukvi via ukvi-international.faq-help.com but they don't seem to have understood my question and replied with following confusing quote which doesn't make any sense. I want to urgently travel on 30th Dec with my husband. Can someone advise if I can travel with this 5 month vignette which is based on my husbands old visa?

Here is the strange and grammatically incorrect reply I received for my query. They don't seem to have read my mail.

"Applicant gets a 30 day visa to travel to UK as per guidance, the travels on the 31/12/2015 within the one month validity.'

Thanks

There may be complications when applying for her BRP in the UK.

This was finally resolved after 3 months post numerous calls to UKVI in India and then sending my passport to Referred Casework Unit in Croydon. I have now received a new vignette with a correct expiry date. However, it is not a BRP. I hope there would be no problems with work as it does not explicitly say "Work Permitted" in remarks ?
