Help on TIER 2 General dependent to TIER 2 General migration

Post by sbsr » Fri Dec 25, 2015 10:52 pm

Hi,

I am on TIER 2 ICT since 2013 at the moment. my wife is in India and she has been offered a Job who are ready to sponsor visa for her.

she will change her category to TIER 2 General from India.

1. Is it possible for me to go to India and apply for being her dependent ( i.e. from TIER 2 ICT Primary to TIER 2 General dependent).
2. Can i do this from UK as well once she reaches here ( i wanted to check on this just in case if my current employer doesn't allow me to go India).
3. once i have came back to UK, can i continue working for my current employer or find a new employer. i understand there is no restriction for Dependents, but wanted confirmation from experts as there is lot of confusion on this.
4. if i change the employer, and as some of the companies are not ready to employ a dependents, if the new employer is willing to offer sponsorship, is there a cooling off period( as i was a TIER 2 ICT Primary before ).
5. there are rumours that TIER 2 General is not eligible for ILR after 5 years. i believe this is only for TIER 2 ICT, can you please help me understand if i am wrong.

Thank you for your help.
