EC from Switzerland-Indian National

Post by ThirdWorldTraveller » Fri Oct 26, 2007 7:52 pm

Hello There,
Will anybody be able to tell me whether I'm able to apply for EC from a country where I work as an work permit folder, in my case Switzerland.

When I compare Indian EC process with that of Switzerland, it sounds like too good to be true.

Just Fee(same), photos and HSMP approval letter!!

Anybody, got EC from EU countries, please enlighten.

Ideally you should apply from the country where you currently residing (in your case SWL)

Hope this helps.

You can make the application is any country where you are legally resident, as compared to merely visiting.

Accordingly, yes you could go back to India to apply, but also, based upon what you have posted, you are also entitled to make your application at the British Mission in Switzerland.

Thanks to you, guys for clarifying.
I'll then do just that. ie will apply from Switzerland as on the surface it looks very easy compared to Indian VAF centers.

Also I've interacted Swiss VAC ( equvalent of VAF in India) offices before for a visit visa. They are very freindly and helpful.
