Tier 2 general - CoS Expiry

Hi,

I am currently in India. I have accepted an offer from an employer. They have assigned a certificate of sponsorship on 18-Nov-2015 which is valid till 19-Feb-2016.

I am in the process of applying for Tier-2 general Visa and I hope I will get it before the CoS expires.

Please can you advise if I should also travel to UK before 19-Feb-2016 or I will get some time to enter UK, from the date when Visa is issued.

As long as you apply for your visa before CoS expires you should be ok. Also, unless you book priority/premium service it is unlikely that you will get your visa before 19th Feb. Check current application timelines to get an idea.

That depends if you get your visa decision and passports back by 19th Feb and your work start date. FYI, CoS assigned date is different to job start date. What's mentioned as your work start date in CoS?

Thanks for your response. Checked my CoS..

Date assigned: 18 November 2015
Work start date is mentioned as 04 January 2016.
