Tier-2 Dependent visa after the main applicant switches

Post by devanasrikanth » Fri Jan 15, 2016 11:35 am

Hi,

I am currently on a Tier-2 General Visa and my wife is currently in India and applied for Tier-2 Dependent Visa a week back.

I have got a new job and I am changing my employer and applying for a new Tier-2 General Visa next week.

As I am changing my Visa, does my wife also needs to apply for a New Dependent visa because I am changing employer.

I have looked into other posts, but it is not clear whether the dependent also needs to re-apply if main applicant changes job. I have called the UKVI helpline and they told me that it is not required to re-apply Visa for the dependent if main applicant changes job. But at the same I have sent a mail to them also, and in the mail they told me that I need to re-apply for the dependent visa as the main applicant sponsor details are changing.

So, I am not sure which one to follow.

Has anybody gone through the same process before and what was result? Please let me know if anybody know more information this scenario.

Thanks
Sri
