Urgent! Please help!Job title and SoC code-TraineeAccountant

Hi all,

My visa expires on 9th of Apr and today my company assigned me the CoS. My SoC code is 2421 Chartered and Certified Accountant- but the company put Trainee Accountant as my job title. On the HO's document about SoC code, its said job related should be :Accountant (qualified), Company accountant, Chartered Accountant.

And the following job titles cannot be used: Accounts administrator; Accounts assistant; Accounts clerk; Auditor; Bookkeeper

My question is: should Trainee Accountant job title be fine or the company should add a note or has to assign me a new CoS?

Please someone has experience on this help me. I would really appreciate. Thank you.

for this SOC code you must be one of the following, if you are not your application will be refused:

Accountant (qualified)
Auditor (qualified)
Chartered accountant
Company accountant
Cost accountant (qualified)
Financial controller (qualified)
Management accountant (qualified)

The job title is less y important than the job description:

Example job tasks: 
plans and oversees implementation of accountancy system and policies; 
prepares financial documents and reports for management, shareholders, statutory or other bodies; 
audits accounts and book-keeping records; 
prepares tax returns, advises on tax problems and contests disputed claim before tax official; 
conducts financial investigations concerning insolvency, fraud, possible mergers, etc.;  evaluates financial information for management purposes; 
liaises with management and other professionals to compile budgets and other costs;  prepares periodic accounts, budgetary reviews and financial forecasts; 
conducts investigations and advises management

Thank you so much for your reply. I asked one of my friends who applied for Tier 2 visa in Jan 2015. On her CoS, it was Trainee Accountant as well. But since Jan 2015 belongs to last tax year, so I'm not sure if it should be fine with my case this year. I saw last year SoC code and found out same job titles and job descriptions with SoC code for current year in Home Office's SoC documents though.

Unless you are a fully qualified accountant you can't meet the NQF6 requirement.
This is a common abuse trend that will lead to the Sponsor being revoked and your visa refused or if granted curtailed at a later point.

Few of my friends who were not fully qualified have been guaranteed visa on this category. All were graduates and were also ACCA Affiliates so I can't understand why you are saying this.
Also all big 4 issues Tier 2 visa to their trainees who are selected in their graduate scheme.
May be since graduation has NVQ Level 6 they issue visa on this.

From personal experience I can confirm that the number of Sponsors that lose their licences on this abuse trend is high.
There is no route to this SOC other than being fully qualified. ACCA even state this on their web site.
Having a degree and or ACCA is meaningless as you are not a qualified accountant until you undertake your two years in practise and complete the requirements to fully qualify.

I don't disagree with you that many people may have trainee positions in this SOC but everyone of them is a potential Sponsor revocation.
