Family UK visit visa

Post by julieliu_99 » Mon Apr 11, 2016 2:43 pm

Hi folks,

I’d like to ask some questions about my family’s visit visa to the UK. I am a Chinese, I have indefinite leave to remain. I am inviting my family (my mum, sister and sister’s daughter) to attend my graduation on 1 July 2016 and for a short holiday in the UK. They three will come to the UK together. My mum will just stay in the UK, but my sister and her daughter are going to apply for Schengen visa to visit other four European countries. After visiting Schengen countries, my sister and her daughter will return to the UK to stay here for 10 days, and they two will return to China with my mum.

So their durations in the UK / Schengen countries are as below:

my mum: stay in the UK only for 60 days
my sister and her daughter: stay in the UK 20 days + Schengen countries 30 days + UK 10 days

My questions are as following:

1. Invitation letter: invite 3 people

1.1 One or three invitation letter(s)?
a. one invitation letter for each of them (i.e. I need to prepare three invitation letters)? or
b. one invitation letter for they three? (maybe too complicated like this?)

1.2. Family UK visit dates
Since we are not sure when they can get the visa for the UK and Schengen, so not booked flight tickets yet.

My questions:
a. If I must indicate on my invitation letter the exact date when my family visit the UK? and when they leave the UK?

b. On my invitation letter, if I say they are coming to the UK 15 Jun, but they actually only manage to come over 20 Jun due to visa and flight issues, would this be acceptable? the same problem with their departure date from the UK to China.

2. Supporting documents from me

2.1 Maintenance – money
My family members will financially support themselves.

My questions:
a. Do I have to submit my bank statement? if so,
b. How many months my bank statement should be back for?
c. Is there requested minimum amount?

2.2 Accommodation
I rent a flat in Glasgow. I share the flat with a Polish girl. I have one bedroom, Polish girl has 1 bed room. And there is a big living room. Polish girl’s partner comes to stay overnight at week days, and they live in the partner’s house at weekends. The Polish girl took over the whole flat and sublet to me, which the landlord agreed with.

My questions:
a. Is my flat suitable to accommodate my family (there are 3 of them) during they stay in the UK for visa purpose? or overcrowded?

b. What documents should I submit?
I have tenancy agreement.

My question:
a. Do I need a letter from both landlord and my flatmate respectively which confirms that they are fine for my family to stay in the flat during their visit in the UK?

3. All documents from me: original or copy?
a. Must all documents from me (eg. Invitation letter with my signature, Tenancy agreement, Bank Statement, my Degree Confirmation letter (including graduation date) from the University etc.) be original? or

b. Can I scan these documents and email to my family, then they print out from China?

Your responses and any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help in advance. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Julie
