Tier 2 General - High earner

Post by abinayavijay » Tue Apr 12, 2016 12:38 pm

Hi everyone,
Need some advise. I am on Tier 2 ICT long term visa with a validity until Jan 2018. In order to apply for Tier 2 general in my case is to serve 1 year cooling period and apply later. The exception is if I offered a salary of over £155300 I can apply immediately without serving cooling period. I know this sort of salary on a permanent role is way out of league for my current level. The maximum I can get is around 80-90K per annum with some bonus and benefits but HO doesn't consider non guaranteed allowances. Is there a way if some one can offer a contract role of 700£ per day which would make up the annual salary of over £155K per annum and another party sponsoring my visa where I become a direct employee of theirs? Or this is not permissible?

just in the last sentence, the way you have described it, it seems you are trying to use an umbrella company. This is illegal under tier 2, it doesnt matter how many people can assure you that it is not, but it is not allowed.
