EEA2 Non-EU Spouse need Health Insurance

Hi all,

I am about to apply for the Residence card for my wife (non-EEA).

However, I have one query regarding her need to have a comprehensive health insurance.

I have read online that both of us will need to have a comprehensive health insurance otherwise the application may be rejected by home office. Hence, is it necessary for my wife to get a comprehensive health insurance policy too?

(Context: I am currently under a comprehensive health insurance policy that I subscribed to when applying for my EEA1 which has been approved by HO)

It depends what the EEA sponsor (you?) are doing to exercise treaty rights.
Are you (or have you been) a student or a self-sufficient qualified person?
If so, CSI would be required.

However, if a worker, jobseeker or self-employed qualified person you do not need CSI in place.
