Tier 4 Placement year and extension from home country

Post by Avinash69 » Mon May 02, 2016 11:03 pm

Hi everyone,

I wonder if any one can help me with my problem.

I am an international student in UK from Pakistan. Soon after the completion of my 2nd year i went on my placement however my visa was valid for 3 years and i was ensured that when i will be back after a year my visa will be extended to continue my studies further on.

I was issued by a CAS stating that i can apply for the extension with in 6 months period after the CAS date.
When i tried making an appointment with the university, a week before i received an email that i cannot apply from UK i have to apply for extension from my home country.
I researched about this change and could not find any clue that if the student wants to extend for the same course he has to go back and apply.

If so i would appreciate if some one can share a link and provide a detail for documents required to apply, i tried getting advise from university but the appointments are fully booked until next month and i can't wait because i need to make prior arrangements.

Therefore i had no other option rather than looking into public forums, your kind advise will be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Avinash

It is because your sponsor cannot confirm on your CAS that your new application shows Academic Progression on your previous studies. Tier 4 applications without Academic Progression confirmed can only be made overseas.

See the Tier 4 Policy Guidance, page 20 onwards.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
