Brp lost

My BRP Leave to remain visa is expiring in august 2016 and was issued just for 2 year and half I think . I have lost it and reported it to the homeoffice online and they Hav emailed me back saying I have to apply for replacement otherwise there may be a civil penaltie fine of 1 thousand pounds or the visa can get cancelled so I'm not sure what to do as I'm going to be applying for Visa extension in 2 months anyway is it worth applying for replacement now? They have given me 10 days to apply for replacement otherwise God knows what will happen it's stressing me out and solicitor is no help to me

It seems HO have told you what to do with couple of possible scenarios.

How much do you need to pay for the replacement?
