Renouncing Citizenship - Countersignature

I have decided to renounce my British citizenship (dual irish national) in order to apply for an EEA family permit so that I can move to UK with my partner.

As we are living outside the EU is it acceptable for the counter signature to be non EU? It doesn't specify on the RN form although it does have a space for a post code. I've searched everywhere and cannot find a definitive answer.

Also would it be acceptable to use a friends address in the UK for my own, as it will never turn up if they post it to here

1) My counter-signatory was Chinese (but he did live in the UK). Makes no difference. They don't ask for any proof of who that person is at all. Just write in the cover letter that your friend is living overseas.

2) I had it posted to my friends address in the UK whilst I was living in China. No issues. My friend posted it over to me in China by recorded delivery.
