COS allocation guide

Post by verylesstime9 » Fri May 06, 2016 3:00 pm

We need to renew our cos allocations as one of our employee's visa will expire in july and we need to extend it.

We are trying to finding guide for filling it's form but can't find it here at all, please guide.

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... to_SMS.pdf

Also, employee's visa will expire on 15 july, can we make it urgent application ? it will be for unrestricted cos allocations.

Increases in unrestricted CoS allocations, or the renewal of the annual allocation, are requested online through the SMS:

Licence summary, applications and services >> Request ......

It would be premature to ask for urgent treatment if you make the request now.

Thank you very much for your reply manci.

Is there not any guide there, our previous authorization officer already applied for COS allocations but they were rejected for reasons not known to us at this time, they on holidays.

Can you either please guide about the form as we don't have access to it until our employee come back or if we could find a guide.

Please also assist on immigration agents if you know any around reading or surrey area, we can get help from for getting these allocations.

Sorry we didn't get your comment about "premature to ask for urgent..." could you please explain it a bit. thanks

As far as I know all requests for unrestricted CoS allocations must be made online through the SMS by someone who has access to the SMS, there is no paper form. You need to find out why the previous request was rejected and address the issue.

The online process is described in Guide 7, p38 onwards:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... icence.pdf

Suggest you phone the UKVI employer helpline 0300 123 4699.

Processing allocation requests usually takes around 1-2 weeks and the migrant's leave only expires in 2 months time, that is why a request for urgent treatment is unlikely to be entertained.

Good Morning Manci,

We are able to speak to employee on holiday, they said they don't have access to emails to forward us the exact text by HO, but said that she didn't sent some documents to home office.

Looking at the form, it looks straight forward and they also suggest in the guide that if we fill it in with "just for business expansion" they will renew COS allocations.

Do we have to provide them any documents as well ? as we are not able to see any way of doing so.

Thank you.

Not knowing the reason for the previous rejection of the CoS allocation request it is difficult to comment.

The note on p40 of the guide says: "The reasons for the request must be explained in full"

In this case the reason is that a migrant's leave expires in July and you wish to continue sponsoring him or her. State the migrant's name and his job incl. the SOC code.

Once you got the allocation and when it comes to assigning the CoS make sure that you meet the current min. salary requirement for the particular SOC code.
